One of my many interests is imaging the night sky, both through a telescope as well as with my Canon cameras and lenses. Below are a couple of examples--Enjoy!

Really nice Walt, I always wanted to try this myself but never bought the lens adapter for the telescope. I did buy the motor to stay on track, but that's about it.  Of course I only have a small Mead reflecting telescope.  Maybe 4 inch mirror I can't recall. It is enough that I have been able to show people the rings around Saturn.  It is so funny seeing their expression the first time they actually see it for themselves.  Back in the late 1960's to early 70's my dad built his own telescope.  It was so impressive because most of it was from scrap materials.  Things like the boom holding the counter weight was just a metal pipe with an end cap on it. The cradle actually holding the telescope was wood.  He even ground his own mirror by hand.  It was an 8 inch mirror I remember that. I still have a few of the lenses he bought thorough Edmond's from back in the day.  We had some good times looking at the night sky.  One time there was a stationary object in the evening sky.  It looked to be anywhere from 10 to 20 thousand feet, but not moving at all.  This was back during the big UFO craze and people in the neighborhood were actually gathering and pointing. My dad said, "Well we will just take a look at it to see what it is."  He broke out the big telescope and took a peek.  He pulled his head back from the eye piece, looked at everyone and without missing a beat he said, "weather balloon". Then everyone lined up to take a look at it.

Keep the pictures coming, I enjoy looking at them.
