It's difficult to steal a vehicle that requires a key with a resistor in it, which is a technology most newer vehicles employ, thus making the GPS/onstar argument for theft recovery invalid.

not if youve got one of these ;)

Shouldn't be anything new. Even here employers follow their employes work car gps to check how they use their work and free time.

 

The current conversation in Finland is surrounding, at the moment, whether the government could force every car to have a gps, so that they could track the movement of every car all the time. This would be required for the new way they are trying to organize the so called car tax, which would be based on the kilometers you drive, in what areas of Finland etc
