I highly doubt Plato was ever friends with Protagoras seeing as Protagoras was a sophist and Plato a philosopher. I do appreciate your attempt at greater wisdom though. Maybe you will be able to learn more about this subject because of your very demanding quest for wisdom as you clearly depict in your highly intellectual message.
