sincity Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Google Now Voice Commands have been a pretty sweet treat for pure Android users and soon Chromebook owners will also be able to command their device by vocalizing "OK Google" instructions. According to Google insider François Beaufort, Chromebook users can already say "OK Google" and search for something. All you have to do is access the new experimental App Launcher in Chrome's Dev Channel. Beaufort also notes that this could just the beginning. In the future Google might implement other features such as "OK Google open Gmail" or "Ok Google, chat with Josh" or any number of things people normally "Ok Google" on their Android devices. We've spotted the potential of Google Now coming to Chrome numerous times already. Test running "OK Google" commands on Google's own approved hardware platforms might just be a dry test run to make sure it all works before moving to a browser based app. If it actually happens, a Google Now connected Chrome browser could add voice commands for every computer, laptop, tablet, phone, and everything that can run Chrome and has a microphone.
