Key code error

lostcause

Question

Hi there guys, I've downloaded a .iso file to reinstall COD4 as I've left my original disk 10 000 miles away from home.

I've got my legit key and have patched all the way up to 1.7 how ever it keeps on telling me that my key code is in use.

I've updated punkbuster as well and checked that my router and firewall was not blocking anything. Any ideas what could be the issue?

Does this help: http://fearless-assassins.com/tutorials/article/299-key-code-in-use-error-fix-pirated-key-removal/

EDIT: And before completely uninstall/reinstall, you can check just straight up changing the key to see if that works http://www.ehow.com/how_5169407_change-call-duty-cd-key.html

i see you in game so I assume you got it working? What fixed it?

There was a patch that was applied to the game that included a pb folder that was obviously taken from some guy who cracked/hacked cod 4 and that caused cd-key/GUID errros/bans.

So all I did was uninstall and removed all the values in the registry, fresh install from dvd. Direct download off of PB and it was all rocking and rolling.

Just a bit rusty now :D
