Windows Phone naviagation

Howdy peeps, I am currently doing some research for work on mobile devices and wonder if the F|Amily can be of some help?

 

I honestly do not know anyone that owns a windows phone (And the only pro i can personally think for having one would be being able to play XBL on your mobile) and wondered if anyone here can help me figure out the following on Windows Phone - Both 7 and 8 if possible!

• How to get connection details (Mac, IP, DG, DNS)
•  
• How to determine SSID and if possible BSSID
•  
• How to ensure set to DHCP
•  
• How to check for proxy settings
•  
• How to clear browser cache
•  
• How to reset connection (release/renew) and or forget network settings/passwords

 

 

Any help would be much apreciated

I have a Windows Phone. Now using the Lumia 820 (WP8), but also have a Lumia 800 (WP7.5, could update to WP7.8). The latter is inactive, so I'll help you know only for WP8, but on WP7.* it's very similar if I remember correctly.

 

Connection details:

- MAC is in Settings->About; together with IMEI, SIM ID, etc.

- On WIFI: Go to WIFI, select network, then long-press it and choose edit. IP, DG and DNS are there. Also MAC, but I use previous method.

- On 3G-ish: no idea

 

SSID:

- You mean the network you're connecting to? Yes you can find that.

 

DHCP:

- Default, no static IP allowed

 

Proxy settings:

- In WIFI settings possible

- On 3G, no idea. But http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp7/start/cellular-settings shows something.

 

Browser cache:

- In settings of IE

 

Reset connection:

- No idea

Forget networks:

- WIFI? In WIFI settings.
