Saw it yesterday also. I agree that 300 was more enjoyable for me too.

 

This one was tried to paint as dark comic book with lots of blood, dark atmosphere and often stills. The semi-god theme bothered me a bit but I think they tried to bring in some mythology. From the good side the whole movie seemed to be filmed in 3D, so it didn´t feel like rip off where to 2D movies are selled tickets with 3D price. And there were lots of action.
