wreck
i just picked up corsair's 800d, and yes i know its a watercooling case but for now im running it on air till i get some watercooling parts probably next year. im having issues with the air flow right now, mostly with my 5850 heating up. My i7 920 @3ghz is in the mid 30's on idle which is fine for me. i have tried a few things, reversed the top 120mm fans for intake instead of exhaust. any ideas? here is how my cooling setup is right now: i have 3 120mm coolermaster r4's at 90 cfm for top intake, the stock corsair 140mm on the bottom for intake, and the stock 140mm for exhaust in the back. i just ordered a kama bay in which ill proably put either a 3000rpm kaze or another coolermaster r4 cuz the kaze's are way too damn loud
TulsaGeoff
I would do it like this. Let the heat rise and escape silly Also using the rear fan like this will hit your v-reg heatsink as well as bring cool air straight onto the CPU heatsink. It looks like you have one heatsink fan? I would switch sides with it if you plan on making the rear exhaust an intake like in the pic. I would go for another CPU fan. It would pull the air through and push it past the memory thus cooling the memory as well. I guess the front bottom fan is optional. That build looks really nice though. Sexy sleeved cables make me happy
wreck
that looks like a good plan, so then i guess the kama bay should become an exhaust in the front when i get it? or would it do any harm to have intakes on both ends? TulsaGeoff
Steve and I agree that kama will not matter. There is nothing to cool there. The case is vented like crazy anyways. I would not worry about it. Definitely put another fan on the CPU heat sink though.
Higgeo
Are they any left over fan holes? Top = out Frount = in Botom = in Side = in back = out More air should be in then out. Put the fan speed to med on in and low on out.
