Having issues installing ET in Ubuntu..

I am trying to download through the terminal and I am getting accessed denied..?..?..?

Anyone using this distro? Have you installed ET on it? I could use a point in the right direction. I googled it and apparently I am doing exactly what I am supposed as well, so I am lost.

Also, I have no luck doing it straight from the website as well.

first be sure your graphic driver are updated, then install libgtk1.2

from console type this:

sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2

now time to get the installer, and you have choice between 2.55 and 2.60, again from the console type this:

2.60:

wget -c http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/wolfenstein/et-linux-2.60.x86.run

2.55:

wget -c http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/wolfenstein/et-linux-2.55.x86.run

after download done, type this:

sudo sh et-linux-2.60.x86.run

you will have graphic install, just follow.

if you wanna patch your game to 2.6b, in console type this:

wget -c http://www.esreality.com/files/misc/2006/38672-ET-2.60b-linux.zip

unzip the patch, copy and overwrite files:

unzip 38672-ET-2.60b-linux.zip

sudo cp Enemy\ Territory\ 2.60b/linux/et*.x86 /usr/local/games/enemy-territory/

now you need to know that ET create .etwolf folder which will contain etkey or config but this folder is hidden and protected. .etwolf folder is created under your account user

first you need to unhide it, Click CTRL + H from your documents folder. Now you need to get access to it, type this from your console:

sudo chown -R user:user ~/.etwolf

of course change user with you account name

in this folder you can put your etkey + autoexec.cfg

also after that you will need to configure your keyboard cos you can not use 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0 buttons to select weaponbank, there is no sound also you will need to create a script to start sound in ET... and more tiny stuff So Goooooooooooooooood luck
