Vanaraud Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Stumbled on it in toms hardware, but heres some more information and also a way to use Java a bit securely as no patch hasn´t come out yet: http://blog.mozilla.org/security/2013/01/11/protecting-users-against-java-vulnerability/ The thing is that Java is vulnerable at moment and all Java users are opened to exploit. Was thinking to give a heads up. To disable Java(which is only solution till now) you need to search in your browser for (Firefox Tools->) add ons-> java: and disable it. Also it could be needed to be disabled in Options also(Firefox: Tools->Options->Content: Enable Javascript and untick it) Can´t read my morning news from local newspapers comes out 1 Quote
Jefke Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Side note: it's the browser plugin that makes the exploit work. In firefox you normally should have to click on java applet to run anyway . They are my default blocked (click to play thingie mentioned in that article from mozilla) Mac users don't have to fear at all... Apple has been kind enough to disable the plugin for you Source (well not really, my source is a Dutch site): http://9to5mac.com/2...-vulnerability/ Edited January 13, 2013 by DrJoske 1 Quote
