Windows 7? Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete all at the same time, go got Task Manager and check which process is consuming your RAM. You may terminate those apps at your own risk and see if that fix the problem temporarily.

 

You can go START > RUN > and type msconfig and hit enter. You will see your Start Up programs there and see if you need those programs to start when your PC boots up.

 

If you wanna go to Advance, there are Services that are running by default or during start up, you can sort them by Running and see if you can stop the Services that you dont need. For example, Printing Service - if you dont have a printer, then you dont need that Printing Service. Or Bluetooth Service for the matter. GL
