Apple Motorola Patent Trial

A U.S. District judge in Wisconsin on Monday dismissed Apple’s (AAPL) patent lawsuit against Motorola, according to Reuters. The Cupertino-based company had accused Motorola of violating patent laws, claiming that the  Google (GOOG) subsidiary wasn’t licensing its technology on fair, reasonable and non-discriminatory terms. Apple’s attorneys previously said that they would be willing to license Motorola’s technology if the court set the per-unit FRAND rate at $1 or less per iPhone sold. Google said that it was “pleased that the court has dismissed Apple’s lawsuit with prejudice,” that “Motorola has long offered licensing to our extensive patent portfolio at a reasonable and non-discriminatory rate in line with industry standards” and that the company remained “interested in reaching an agreement with Apple.”
