Corey Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 At this point, Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 5 has been dissected to death. BGR already got one and has been playing around with it since Thursday, and we’ve even seen some early teardown photos of it showing off its tightly-packed internals. But nobody does a teardown quite like the iFixit team. They’re so comprehensive and provide such detailed photos and instructions that even a person afraid of using a screwdriver might be tempted to open their shiny new iPhone 5 up. Unlike the previous two generations of iPhones, all it really takes to open up the iPhone 5 is a suction cup and a Pentalobe screwdriver. In the end, iFixit gave the iPhone 5 a score of 7/10 (10 being the easiest to repair), which is just mildly better than the 6/10 score it gave the iPhone 4S. iFixit’s full teardown video is posted below.
