OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 Update

Before announcing the new iPhone 5, Apple (AAPL) CEO Tim Cook rattled off a few stats for OS X Mountain Lion. Cook boasted that Mountain Lion has been downloaded 7 million times since it became available two months ago. As impressive as that figure is, many users are still reporting sub-par battery life on MacBooks, even after the recent 10.8.1 update. MacObserver compiled a detailed analysis of battery life spanning from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion’s upcoming 10.8.2 update and came to the conclusion that the poor MacBook battery life issue has been resolved. Users can expect to regain upwards of an hour and a half of battery life in 10.8.2 compared to 10.8.1. That’s great news for customers, as the drop in battery life from Lion to Mountain Lion is unacceptable.
