Verizon Lumia Smartphone Confirmed

Since its inception nearly two years ago, Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform has struggled to capture a significant share of the U.S. smartphone market. While every major carrier has offered a Windows Phone device, AT&T and T-Mobile are the only wireless service providers in the U.S. that have offered Nokia’s flagship Lumia smartphones. This is about to change, though. Nokia’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations, Richard Kerris, in an interview with Neowin, revealed that it “won’t be long” until the nation’s largest carrier, Verizon Wireless, offers a Lumia device. Nokia previously announced that its PureView camera technology would also be coming to future Lumia devices. Kerris reiterated the company’s plans and said that it will happen “very soon.”
