BoomStick Posted May 19, 2012 Author Posted May 19, 2012 My aunt is over visiting from San Francisco and she brought this wind-up musical jester with her. In one hand she holds a rose and in the other she holds a mask. As the wind-up works and the music plays, the rose lowers and the mask slips away, to reveal her face 'neath the mask. The music eventually slows to a crescendo and finishes. Quote
BoomStick Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) This week has been extremely busy, as the Volvo Ocean Race has it's final stop-over in my city. Every day I look out my window, I see more and more boats filling up the Docks. Tomorrow is the festival's last day, which has been going on since the 30th of June. It will be strange seeing them all gone. To mark the 4th of July, they held a fireworks display. This morning, the boats that competed in the race held a mini in-port race, with the boats that crowded the Docks forming the route they took. Random couple dancing. As the competing boats made their way into the Docks, those that had flares lit them, casting the sky with a reddish orange glow. Edited July 7, 2012 by Panzer-WT? Quote
Waster Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 (edited) Very Nice Photos! I certainly need to find my way to Ireland someday and Explore the old family tree some. Wonder how many other countries light off fireworks on July 4, Do they always have fireworks or just because of the race? Edited July 7, 2012 by Waster Quote

Wonder how many other countries light off fireworks on July 4, Do they always have fireworks or just because of the race? It was because of the race, I think, but also because one of the boats was American. Quote
Pablin Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I was staring out my window, when I happened to see this person. He had climbed the to the top of the mast of this boat and there he swayed, trying to tie some form of rope. Very, very brave man. Sometimes when the weather is nice, I like to sit down by the water and watch the swans move to and fro. so that´s summer? Quote
BoomStick Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 so that´s summer? Haha, Galway doesn't get nice weather at all alas. Quote
