  1. 1. Which phone would you choose:

My droid 2 is great, no problems. I would get the droid. I use it for web browsing (a lot of times to look at the forums here) and email often. I know it's not truly future proofing but I'm able to upgrade my verizon phone i think every year. So that should be enough time for the 4G networks to spread and become more prominent. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the replies. I have come to a decision. Sort of. Well, I narrowed it down anyway:

I'm going to wait for either the Droid Bionic OR the Samsung Galaxy S II, but at this point I'm leaning toward the Samsung. I believe the Galaxy S II will be called the "Function" when released for Verizon. I've read a ton of reviews on the Galaxy S II after Medic suggested I take a look at it, and it looks amazing.(Its already been released in parts of Europe, Asia, Canada, and elsewhere) It has 1.2 Ghz dual core processor, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread, super fast browsing (4G), good battery life, and pretty much everything I could want at this point.

The only problem with these phones is that the release dates keep getting pushed back. The Bionic is now slated for a release sometime in September, and the Galaxy is rumored to be coming out on the 12th of this month. The rumors that keep flying about release dates mostly turn out to be just that: rumors. No "official" word on exact dates, just rumors at this point.

Anyone have a Samsung Galaxy S II that would care to share their opinion?

Supposedly Sprint changed the name of their variant, I really hope "Function" doesn't stick. Horrible for such an awesome phone xD

Bionic Specs if you haven't seen them

As far as I know 4G/LTE has not been confirmed for Verizon -but- supposedly Sprint's version has WiMax. And if it's taking this long to come out I hope that it at least has some sort of upgrade and reasoning (although I hope it doesn't screw battery life to hell).

Oh well, that's the problem with phones - all rumors, hardly any actual from the manufacturer facts until it comes out :P

...I check phone websites far too often -.-

I can say Verizon's 4g/LTE system so far is FAST. I did a speedtest a while back on one of their cards, and it's faster even than my FiOS is here at home. Granted as more phones come online, that kind of throughput may not be always the case, but I'd definitely go with 4g if you can stand to wait. :) I'm halfway tempted to switch from AT&T, but Verizon's world/roaming phones/plans suck. So I'm stuck here with "4g" (3.5g barely) on AT$T (No, that wasn't a typo).

The brick, that was indestructible in its day, hehe

I would recommend an iPhone 4, I do not like Macs, but Apple does make a good phone ;)
