Zuthus Posted May 1, 2011 Posted May 1, 2011 You probably have seen atleast one of my signatures. Well if you're intersted on how they are made, this is the right tutorial for you. If you enter this artistic world, you will find out I'm just a noob in this and you could be much better. First we have to ask ourselfs what signatures are. Signatures are small artworks often made with adobe photoshop that are used in a users “signature area” on forums. Signatures come in different styles and shapes. Signatures can look photo-realistic, abstract or have a grunge feeling; with signatures everything is possible. How to make signatures or often called sigs/tags Almost all Signatures creators use Adobe Photoshop. You can download a trial here: http://www.adobe.com...dows&product=39 Once your trial ends you'll have to buy Photoshop, in my opinion it is too expensive, but if you are a student you will get a huge discount. I downloaded a crack, I know it's not right, but man 300 bucks for a programm or if you're not a studnt like 900, no thank you. If you don't like downloading cracks or buying it, you can use Gimp , a free programm that is similar to photoshop. You can download Gimp, searching on google, I haven't used it yet, but I've seen good comments about it. You will also need a program to extract the different resources you will download, for this you will need a program that can extract .rar and .zip files. I suggest you to download Winrar (windows) or UnrarX (Mac). You will have to read a bunch of tutorials. I learned how to do signatures searching in google Basic Signature Tutorials or in sigtutorials.com . You have to get used to use tools and the different resources you download. Where to find Resources You will need to download brushes, fonts, renders, c4d renders, patterns and much more to really get the best out of your program. You can download brushes in deviantart.com , renders in http://www.planetrenders.net/'>http://www.planetrenders.net/ , c4d renders in deviantart.com or http://www.planetrenders.net/ and stocks in google. To know what those things are and how to use them, I suggest to you to start reading tutorials! Let's start! You now have a program to create signatures with, downloaded the needed resources, and have a tutorial in front of you. Now its time to start creating signatures! Don't worry, you're signatures will look horrible in the first few tries, if you compare them with the ones you see, don't get frustrated. If you fail understanding and need help, I'm always available to help Just send me a PM or a comment in my profile! You can search in tutorials section a tut of Photoshops Basics from me and it has important things to remeber while practicing and doing signatures. Quote
