HannahG Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 What version of Winrar do I get for Windows XP? http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm None of those actually say "xp" Quote
Crasher Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 It doesn't really matter, just pick one of the top two. Quote
HannahG Posted March 26, 2011 Author Posted March 26, 2011 It does matter though....ones 32 and ones...something else... I'd rather not do a 50/50. I'd like the correct one. I tried Google and couldn't find the answer, so now I'm trying here. >_> This isn't just my computer, 3 of us share it, if I mess something up I'd probably not wake up tomorrow rofl. Quote
Papito Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 pick one of those http://www.win-rar.com/download.html'>http://www.win-rar.com/download.html every one is compatible with XP pick one of those http://www.win-rar.com/download.html every one is compatible with XP Quote
rolf Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 Every version should work, however since I expect you to run WinXP32bit, (64bit isn't that common), I suggest you pick a 32bit version. Small note: Winrar is shareware as far as I know. 7zip is a somilar, works in my opinion even better, but doesn't have a graphical user interface. On a .zip/.rar file, right-mouse click -> 7zip -> extract here. If the lack of a GUI isn't a problem, use 7zip. Quote
Dr. Kaoss Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 (edited) Lol she's asking which one for xp when it's only the difference between 32 and 64 bit . If you didn't know that you can't be anything BUT damaging to a computer so don't worry lol. Edited March 26, 2011 by Dr. Kaoss Quote

WinRAR is so called Shareware, which basically means it is free for 40 days and you will need to buy a license to use it then. 7-Zip on the other hand is freeware, which allows you to use it for free as long as they keep it free. I'm going to use that then, it's just as good and all? Thank you by the way!! Quote
