NHL Free Agency 2025

Here are my predictions on NHL Free Agency. I will add three possible landing spots plus length and salary cap hit. Players are in the order of their last cap hit.

 

Mitch Marner is ofc biggest free agent name and can sign anything from 10-15M there is half of NHL who try to sign him. He could end up playing rebuilding teams like Anaheim, but I predict he wants to play in the playoffs, so he signs with some competitive team. Dallas has been in rumours, but i don't see it happening. They already have Rantanen who is a right winger and earning 12M. They can't justify paying Marner the same as Rantanen when Rantanen has been better in the regular season and a lot better in the playoffs.

 

The D-group is a little bit thin, and it is possible that every defender has to take a pay cut from the last cap hit. Goalies marker is very thin and there isn't any number one goalie free. Most teams are ready tandems so there are only a handful teams who are looking back up goalie.
