hobbit Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 True, but tbh i can't really see any invention that would enable a human body to withstand the pressure of 10's or 100's of times the speed of light that would be needed for such voyages. Breaking the sound barrier is enough pressure to cause the pilots blood pressure to rise and to drain his blood to his legs even while wearing the protective suit. Of course, people in the 1300's didnt imagine ppl would be able to fly and here we are, flying around the globe. Quote
PHANTASM Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 True, but tbh i can't really see any invention that would enable a human body to withstand the pressure of 10's or 100's of times the speed of light that would be needed for such voyages. Breaking the sound barrier is enough pressure to cause the pilots blood pressure to rise and to drain his blood to his legs even while wearing the protective suit. Of course, people in the 1300's didnt imagine ppl would be able to fly and here we are, flying around the globe. If I was to speculate I would say that we need a way to teleport. Perhaps by folding space somehow. I have read some interesting theories. Such as if you could duplicate the space-folding effects of a black hole without the gravitational effects, you could make two remote areas of space touch somehow, and thus create a bridge in space. Of course we are in the situation of a Neanderthal pondering air travel. In the distant future we may be intelligent enough to devise something like this, or some unimaginable technology. Quote
Razzled Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Well....there are freaks and then there are nuts. The above would be classified as nuts in my opinion. Quote
