There is this new hilarious game gaining traction in last months called Lethal Company.

 

What is Lethal Company?

 

It is an indie game perfectly balanced between humour and horror, made by single indie game developer.

 

The gameplay (multiplayer only) starts with players spawning inside a spaceship which looks more like a 60-70's rusty coach bus. Players (all wearing hazmat suits) being freshly employed by the company are expected to fly between moons and loot abandoned buildings to fulfill quota. Each moon has its own characteristics, different climate, soil, etc. Abandoned buildings (or dungeons as some call it) are filled with monsters and lethal objects making them more and more difficult to loot during each moon visit. Communication is mostly done via voice, which is limited in range and affected by enviornment, so your team members may not be able to communicate over larger distances unless they bought a hand-held radio (I dare you saying "walkie-talkie" you heathens). Players are not informed about death of their mates which adds up to this horror climate.

 

There are two different types of monsters (and lethal objects). First group resides outside the buildings and their main purpose is to disrupt our journey between spacecraft and the facility. Second group resides inside the facility we are going to loot. Some monsters are relatively harmless like hoarding bugs (unless you want to steal from them) meanwhile some other are extra dangerous like bracken, ghost girl or jester. There are also dangerous or lethal objects like landmines or turrets.

 

All those funny and hilarious moments come from interaction between players. Single player gameplay (considering you are hosting your solo lan game) is boring and probably interesting for speedrunners only. This game has entered modding scene quite quickly and mods are so popular you will probably be auto-kicked/rejected from at last half of available servers due to uninstalled mods. The best and also the most terrifying mod I find is the "skinwalker mod" which perfectly learns voice of your mates and makes monsters lure you by imitating their voice. This makes people say totally insane unorthodox things, just to convince your mates you are a real player standing behind a wall and not another lurking monster.
