Older gaming computer (XP)

First question, do you think an older gaming computer with windows XP would run ET smoother? 

This was probably a top of the line desktop around the time ET came out very similar to what I used to play on. and never had any issues like I do with current rig.

 

Second question, its been a log time since ive played and would still prefer to play .55. Would this pc be able to run .55 and is .55 still supported in FA servers?

 

Here are the computer specs, I found this on marketplace.

 

Has an i5-760 CPU and a GTX 550 Ti GPU, both of which are some of the newest and most powerful parts to support XP natively. Already has the appropriate drivers installed as well. 500GB HDD installed, which will be able to store many games, and 4GB RAM, the max supported by XP 32 bit
