omgimdead Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I'm trying to play around with my settings. I've been using AK47 doubletap for a while but don't think it's been as effective as I want. Not sure how much success people have had with it. Just curious. Quote
Blackops Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I'm trying to play around with my settings. I've been using AK47 doubletap for a while but don't think it's been as effective as I want. Not sure how much success people have had with it. Just curious. I would recommend using stopping power and deep impact. The AK already has enough recoil, you don't need to add more to it with double tap. Double tap is a nice perk, but it wont help you if your just spraying bullets and missing you're target. The Ak is a pretty powerful gun, and with stopping power you should be able to drop them like flys. Quote
AntiThought Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Yeah as MW2 has said the recoil gets unreasonable when the AK is Double Tapped. I actually kill less people with the AK when using this perk. I use either Stopping Power or UAV Jammer with the AK. Quote
Malokyte Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Double Tap is nearly the dumbest perk in existance, almost beating out Easvdrop or whatever that shits called. You waste more bullets when you miss. You have to reload more often which means more vulnerability. You sacrifice damage over time for damage in the now, which is stupid because the AK will kill in 2 or so hits with stopping, about the same amount of time for 3 or 4 hits with double tap. Quote
Tomato Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Just go Bandolier, Stopping Power, Steady Aim and you're good. Quote
dman Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Tomato's right. Bandolier gives u the extra ammo to mow down a bunch of guys and stopping power gives u those quick easy kills. Steady aim is ok with the AK but i think i'd rather use deep impact Quote
Maximo Decimo Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 just to confirm, steady aim makes the gun more accurate when you are aim down signt or when you just shot? Another one, which guns get more efficent when you put steady aim on it? Quote
Malokyte Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 Avoid sticking steady aim on an assault. If you want to hipfire spam, you should be using a smg. Take advantage instead of the rifles greater range and penetration with deep impact. Steady aim decreases the hipfire crosshair size. Best use it on smgs and sniper rifles. NEVER use it on shotguns (you don't need the decreased crosshair size) or lmgs (with 100 bullets, you shouldn't have even let them get that close). RARELY use it on assault rifles. Quote
Tomato Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 No way, I use Steady Aim on all my classes. Allows for some great spam when needed, and makes it almost unnecessary to aim down the sight with the Deagle. Quote
omgimdead Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 Wow. I've got to say I'm surprised by the feedback. Actually, I thought everyone used double tap and that it was almost standard. I'm going to try stopping power for a while. I really like the AK47 and want to keep using it but want to make sure I'm using the right perks. Thanks everyone, this has been awesome. Quote

I agree Malo it is definitley a dumb perk. Though it sure is a hell of a lot of fun. Nothing beats clearing a room with an M4 double tap and steady aim Quote
