Some Help Pleasee

RIght, started playing on the Hardcore server and i always join through my xfire. Was fine at first but recently when i join settings are not what i want.

 

My autoreload and autoswitch in game options are off along with the download options for maps etc. I can't open the game options in menu when I'm on the game to change them either. I've tried loading ET without xfire and then I can change these settings to what I desire, however when I join into the server it gives me 0 xp. And I like playing with my xp I've gained it does load the xp through xfire though.

 

Any ideas how I can play on the server with my xp and the settings i use to have???

You might be using either a different install of ET (so u might have 2 and one of them is the one detected by xfire while the other is the one you load normally) or it might be a side effect of using ETStarterPro. Not sure.

Ahh scripting could work. I already use a .cfg so what lines would i need to include to get the settings?

dont use xfire, it lags you anyway. put connect 216.155.146.19:27960 after your target location or whatever when you right click the wolfenstein icon

Yup, the xp loss is due to multiple guids due to different et applications in different directories.

 

To prevent this, you must use the same et.exe.

Open xfire and open options which is under the tools menu.

 

In the options, select the games tab and select Wolfenstein Enemy Territory from the list of installed games.

 

Copy the game path without the et.exe part

 

 

Open my documents and paste the address in the address bar.

 

Now if your explorer / browser / whatever you wanna call it is full size, restore it down so that you can see the desktop and then whilst right clicking, drag the et.exe to your desktop and click create shortcuts here

 

Now always use this new shortcut to start et, or xfire, and you will have the same xp. You can make copies of it to wherever you want to.

Add

cg_autoreload 0
cg_autoswitch 0

to your cfg file.

 

Xfire does increase your lag and I close it once i've connected to a server, but using multiple shortcuts to connect to different servers is bad advice.

Its best to use the F|A menu if you don't already.

Cheers for all the help guys. Found the commands in my config so edited them and done as you said to create the shortcut.
