another day at work, one step forward to the future

just managed to change the access control reading settings from Legic Prime to Legic Advant yesterday.

that wasn´t that hard afterall, and we knew what we were doing, even though the software behind it was Dr. Städler and is around 27 years old.

The biggest problem though, like always in life, everyone wanted to have a fair share of reputation, even though they bring nothing but themselves or they unaskedfor opinions to the table.

that was one of the initial problem of the project, and why it got stalled, before it couldn´t even get started.

after almost 11 years, the transformation from an old reading format and it´s hackability, finally advanced one step further into the future.

which brings us now to the next problem of exchanging 250 old access controllers, and even more 350-400 access readers,

since they are still in the old fashioned way of reading, and just not capable of reading legic advant at all.

this throws up open another hole of around 1 million euros of hardware exchange globally on all departments...

so guess what´s going to happen next...

exactly nothing... like always. so we meet up again in a couple of years, only to find out, that we didn´t invest in the future, and kepts maintaing the old stuff as best and bad as possible...

so now it´s up to me again, to think of ways to declare the current state of the hardware as outdated or uninteger...

honestly, if a hammer hits the devices, they will be broken too... no questions asked...
