Ok PAtch selector didn't work for me.

Instead of 2 installs, I've just been swapping the files that came with a reverse 1.6 patch that I downloaded.

Well about a freaking hour ago I swapped files to go back to 1.7 to play with you guys on TDM, and now it's f***ed.

It's stuck in 1.6 and is no longer recognized by xfire. Servers do not show up as online, and xfire no longer detects cod4 as being installed.

Any ideas before I throw my f***ing keyboard through a wall?

uhhhhhhhhh, uninstall and reinstall...tell it to keep saved game etc, or go to COD file, player profiles and make a backup copy of ur profile too....You downloaded the 1 from the "OUR KILLBOX SERVER IS ONLINE" post, right?? I DL'd that one yesterday and it worked.

I used one that Avaa linked me to, worked for her, didn't work for me.

And there is no profile or players folder :-/

Found players folder thanks to Baska and demir

Player info is now backed up, and I'm doing a double install so I don't have to mess with patch selectors, or file swapping.

Not sure where to put this ....

BUT ,,, the HC no Marty SEVER had MAJOR issues w/ lag and connection interruption problems today @ Wed Aug/24 6 - 6:30 PST, made the game un playable, and the server shut down eventually.
