Hello all.
It was suggested I introduce myself, so here I am.
In real life I'm a software developer. I work on boring proprietary business apps, APIs, and integrations, mostly .NET, but some TypeScript and Angular too.
I suspect anyone who plays regularly recognizes me as the player who whines and complains too much. I realize that is tiresome for all and I'm working on it. I promise!
I've been playing ET since it was released, and I played the preceding products (Castle Wolfenstein on an Apple IIc, Wolfenstein 3D on a Windows/DOS machine, and later Return to Castle Wolfenstein multiplayer).
I recall RTCW first appeared as a free, fully playable release of just the Beach map, prior to the full-blown product with other maps and a single-player mode. I called off work the next day and played all day. The gameplay and realism was like nothing I had played before. I've never played the single-player mode.
That said, you'd think I would be a better player by now. I'm just OK, not particularly skilled. I think I've gotten better recently, though. If anyone ever has any suggestions or tips on my play they would be welcome.
