Meaby help with this problem ??

Sometimes i have the next : I'm kicked because 'Bad Surface' or something. Then I rejoin after restarting pc and then my nick is gone and its laggy :s

 

I have problems with my pc, i know, but i played the last month without that problem.

 

Can i do anything about it ?

'bad surface' sounds like a problem reading your HDD. try defragmenting your disk ( start menu - accessories - system tools ). it should run a chkdsk function before defragmenting, which might turn up a disc error. if you have that you might want a new HD.

 

what PC problems do you have? it may all boil down to hardware issues / infection.

 

the more files you install and move around, the more fragmented your disc gets ( part of program here, part there, etc ) and pieces can get lost or just take to long to find when a program is looking for them. if you don't clean it up regularly, it gets worse over time - maybe thats why you were OK last month. you should defragment 2 times a month or more depending on how much installing and moving files around you do.

 

your nick could be gone because of IP reset, missing & re-written ETkey, using different profile in main ET menu.. are your binds still there? XP? do you use a cfg?

 

lag is due to any number of things server side, other programs using the internet or your RAM while you play, poor internet connection etc. you can help it by not letting other programs do things while you play and by playing on servers where you have low ping. there are many other tweaks to the game you can do to reduce the load on your connection... search..

Thx but i have always bluescreens If i play games or watch a movie, after an hour or two, meaby earlier, its a bluescreen :-) I dont have the financies to repair it wright know (i think its the slot for my videocard) but ill survive like always with this pc :-)
