The Kinect is no longer required to be plugged in to use the console. Seems they've finally got the message. I'll still be on PS4 myself for the time being. Their attitude in general disgusted me and when people that out of touch are behind the machine I wouldn't be surprised if some of these measures are put back in place once the hardware has been sold. I'll wait it out a bit and see how it goes. Eventually I'd like to have them both, the XBOX 360 was a great console indeed, I'm just weary how the X1 will turn out for now.

And you know, some of the things didn't bother me at all for the X1, it was their attitude - their snooty force it down your throat stick with the 360 if you don't like it attitude that kept me away for the moment. But hey, that's my opinion :P
