Jopa Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Pope Benedict XVI shocked the world with his plans to reitre on Feb. 28. He shocked the world again today – he’s moving to L.A. When he leaves the papacy, many thought that Pope Benedict would stay in Vatican City or retire to a hillside retreat in northern Italy. Instead, the Pope is going to Los Angeles and will be living in the exclusive Bel-Air neighborhood. “The Pope loves the sun and he’s thinking of writing a screenplay or two before he dies. He wants to write something along the lines of the Dan Brown novels,” said a source close to the Pope. Sources say his first screenplay is a thriller based on the life of Pope John Paul I. The Pope had meditated on the possibility of resigning for years. In the 2010 book “Light of the World: The Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times,” from a series of interviews conducted by Peter Seewald, a German journalist, Benedict said that if a pope “clearly realized that he is no longer physically, psychologically and spiritually capable of carrying out the duties of his office,” he would have “the right, and under some circumstances also an obligation, to resign.” And now… Hollywood here he comes!
