Davidjb7 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) When I went to see the Hunger Games I expected it to be as violent as the books, however, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the makers did a very good job with the violence. It was a very good movie that provoked quite a few good discussions. The idea reminds me too much of ancient Rome and the circus maximus. The main ones were as follows: 1. What are the capitols views on death and killing. 2. Are we in America growing more and more insensitive to death. 3. Mercy Killing, Is it just or kind or right to put a person out of their misery. 4. Could the government really get to "THAT" point of complete control. I also found it interesting how they made the capitol really small as if to show that the population was decreased after the war. Please post your thoughts on the questions above and anything else you think I may have missed. In the end, I would not allow someone younger than 14 to see it, because of the deep (and somewhat dark) ideas behind it. :Davidjb7 Edited June 1, 2012 by davidjb7 Quote
