Loki Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 (edited) I have found that running COD4 in windowed mode can be useful sometimes, so I figured I would share this tip here. 1) Find your COD4 shortcut on your desktop. This trick works for both Single and Multi player modes (I only use it on multiplayer). 2) Right click on the Desktop shortcut and select properties. 3) On the target line you should find the following: "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\iw3mp.exe"4a) Add this AFTER the last quotation mark of the target for Windowed mode : +r_fullscreen "0"4b) Add this AFTER the last quotation mark of the target for Full Screen mode : +r_fullscreen "1"*** You can make a copy of the shortcut so that you can switch back and forth as you like...... 5) The changes will not take effect until the SECOND TIME you run the shortcut. Just run it once / close COD4 / run second time , and you will be in windowed mode or full screen depending on the variable you have set. The changes you made will be active every time you run that shortcut from the second time you run it, until you change the variable. Edited March 31, 2018 by Fearless Staff Quote

Loki Posted October 12, 2009 Author Posted October 12, 2009 hey dix, when you add the res, do you have to start it twice for it to take effect? Quote
Dan Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 Another thing you could do is edit your config_mp in the Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\YOURNAME\ Folder Set this value to 0 for windowed: seta r_fullscreen "0" Quote
Dixus Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 hey dix, when you add the res, do you have to start it twice for it to take effect? yes because it overwrites the config... you can do one... save the config files for those different configs and make a batch file that renames or copies the right one in your profile folder. then it will work at first start..
