Bolton player Fabrice Muamba just had a heart attack on the pitch whilst playing in the FA Cup against Tottenham Hotspurs. He collapsed and was reanimated on the pitch.

He's on his way to hospital now and still receiving CPR

Good luck Fabrice. Keep strong.

Really shocking to see what had happened.. I was watching the first half but had to leave for work and only found out in work what had happened.. The thing is, the guy is only 23 years old! Very young player still and has a lot of potential.

This is what came out a few hours ago:

"Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Fabrice Muamba has been admitted to The Heart Attack Centre at The London Chest Hospital where he is in a critically ill condition in intensive care," said a joint statement from Bolton and the hospital released at 2130 GMT on Saturday.

"No further information will be issued at this stage. The club and hospital request that the media and public respect the family's privacy at this time."

Lots of support from the players of some rival clubs which is great to see. Tim Cahill's tweet sums it up really - "RT how about a massive Well done to the spurs and Bolton medical team and all the paramedics involved to get Muamba to a stable condition"

More support here: http://www1.skysport.../11095/7605543/

Really wish this guy a speedy recovery.. Must have been shocking to see on the pitch at the time.. I'd say the lads had their hearts in their mouth :(

Edit: Just saw as well from Twitter - "Pirlo: "We dedicate our goals to Muamba, who's currently fighting for his life." #Juventus #Juvenews" Fair play from a guy who has never played against/with him before!

Also Andy Carroll hit the nail on the head - "Spurs vs Bolton means nothing! FA Cup means nothing! Football means nothing! Right now Fabrice Muamba is everything!! #PrayForMuamba" - Liverpool striker Andy Carroll

I heard he talked some and can move his limbs. The doctors think they're might be lasting brain damage though :(

Indeed it's good that he can recognize visitors and he was able to have a short conversation also with some people, he will never play again and as you said he's pretty much brain dead.. don't forget he's still only 23! Very young age :(
