COD MW 2 MW2 wont work

Hi, I hope I'm posting this in the right place. When i try run MW2 multiplayer it gives an error saying 'failed to open image 3_cursor3'. I found the image in the game folder and even downloaded a new one and pasted it in, but no luck. I've also tried a g search but still nothing. Anyone know whats wrong?

In the steam game menu, Right-click the game, go to properties, click the “Local Files” tab, and verify.

I didnt get it through steam, and steam shows it as being a none steam mod

The issue you are experiencing is not the general behavior of the graphics card or its driver. However, such issue could occur either:

 

1. If the display driver is not registered properly in Windows.

2. Or, it could be game specific issue.

 

I would request you to try:

 

1. update ur latest videocard driver

2. update ur directX

3. patch ur mw2 to the latest version
