AshApocalypse
Ok guys, so I got bored a few days ago (avoiding reading a few books for school mainly) and stumbled on a few online zombie games, by far the best has to be Dead Frontier Online. The general idea of this game, is that after a zombie outbreak, a "town" is set up, called "Nastya's Outpost", this is your starting area where you'll go out into the world and start killing zombies. With a storage facility, a bank, a marketplace (Where you can buy everything from clothing, to medical supplies, to weapons, to the services of certain classes) The Official Wiki - Wiki Main Page There are a variety of different classes, all giving you different bonus' and starting weapons. You can choose to be a Soldier, Fireman, Athlete, Farmer, Teacher, Stock Broker or any of a wide range of abour 20 classes In this game you can make as many accounts as you want, all for free, but there is the option of paying for a Gold Membership, which just increases your exp gain, chance of looting, gives you discounts etc etc List Of Classes/Professions, Their Stats And Starting Bonus' - Classes/Professions Once you're all settled and used to the Outpost, it's time to venture out into the "Inner City", the map here is split into individual blocks, once you reach the edges of your "block", arrows will indicate you can move on to the next block. Be careful though, the further you venture away from the block you start on, the stronger zombies become, and the more often you'll encounter them. As soon as you enter the "Inner City" you'll be in a blockaded area, with a few 'Guards' around you, these are AI bots, and will just stand around and shoot at any zombie that tries coming close to the blockade. Walking around, you'll start to notice more zombies spawning/running/walking at you, this is due to your "Aggro", the more you attack zombies/the longer you're around them, the higher your "Aggro" will build, meaning you're more likely to get swarmed by a group of zombies As you venture out, you'll see yellow vehicles/bodies or just plain bodies around the roads with a '?' above them, if you go over to them and hold down the 'F' button, you'll start looting, and pick up a random item (ammo, a weapon, food, medical supplies etc) which you can either use when needed, or go back to town and put on the market. Every few hours the Outpost will come under attack, this basically means that a near never-ending stream of zombies will start to march towards the blockade, or just spawn around you. The attack can last anywhere from 15-75 minutes, the idea is just to kill as many zombies as you can, with the benefit being a varying amount of bonus xp at the end, depending on how long you stayed in the attack and how many zombies you kill. Luckily, you'll be able to know about the attack even if you're not on the tab you've got Dead Frontier open on. A siren will sound to signal the start of the attack and it will keep going until the attack is over While you're out in the "Inner City" you can access your map (by pressing 'M'), the main menu (by pressing the escape button 'esc') and the inventory (by pressing 'I) From the main menu, if you click on Settings, you can highlight the option for 'Single Player', this allows you to choose whether you will be playing alongside others, or just by yourself, it all depends on whether you want to try and get more xp/loot, or go and have support if you get into trouble. Pressing the 'Tab' button will open up your chat I know that i've wrote quite a lot, and i've probably missed quite a bit out, but if you have any questions, feel free to message me on here and i'll try my best to help. I've currently got 3 accounts, a lv 5 Police Officer, a lv 7 Fireman and a lv 8 Farmer, all under the users AshApocalypse1, AshApocalypse2 and AshApocalypse3 respectively, so feel free to add any/all of those if you decide to get the game. TIPS: (will be adding more when I think of them) -When you level up, you'll get the option to level up your weapon proficiencies, and your stats. Try to stick to a few set weapons (preferrably the ones you already have a bonus in), and with your stats, to start with, go with what you feel is appropriate, you can find the use of each stat online, but make sure your "critical hit" is quite high for later on in the game -Weapons have a specific type of ammo, eg. Your starting pistol uses .32 hangun ammo, you'll find lots of 9mm handgun ammo, but these cannt be used with your gun, pay attention to the type of ammo used for each gun so you're not left weaponless when you're facing zombies -When you're looking over weapons, it will give you certain information, like the clip size, firing speed, reload speed, accuracy and critical hit rate. Aim for weapons with a high clip size, and a high stat in all the rest (I know it's obvious, but still, some people don't pay attention) -When you're out searching around, go loot EVERY possible car/body with a '?' over it, you never know what you might find -"Mastercrafted" versions of weapons and armour are just improved versions of that weapon/armour -If you can't sell an item, or it's taking too long to sell, then go to The Yard, and drag and drop it in the bin on the left side of the screen, this will give you some instant cash -Look for items that people sell cheap, for example, Beer. Most of the offers for beer will be 50, but some people will offer it at 20-40, snatch all these offers up, and then sell back for an easy profit (This is my main money-making method) Finally, I'd appreciate it if anybody wanting to join and play this game would use my referral link Please Click If You Plan To Play Now i'm done, longest post i've ever wrote on the forums I think (D:), it's time for me to go kill some zombies ^^ Any questions, feel free to post on this thread or inbox me ~Ash
Malokyte
I used to play this, probably will play it again now that I'm losing access to my gaming computer. Runs on the Unity engine if I remember correctly, and it was a nice time suck. Edit: I'm now a level 6 Soldier called Oracle. Might make another character, no idea though. Malokyte
It looks quite terrible ...... I guess it depends on your tastes. I like games like it, cause I know I'm better than every scrub noob in the starting area and can show it off. What's that? 20 of you just got massacred by 1 flaming zombie? Watch me solo 3 of them at once using a penknife. ujelly?
