do you play with voice chats? -people spam the most in the first 5 minutes of the map

I have updated ET, and yes its the only game that does this, though I don't play the other games on my pc hehe.. I upgraded to Win7 today and am going to re-install ET and see what happens :)

there are certain videocard-motherboard pairs which can generate the loop error under high load. in these cases upgrading their driver can even worsen things thanks to updated drivers pushing cards more to their limit

 

what is your gpu model?

Ummm, I think it is a geforce 8400 se, I am not so savvy in pc stuff :)
