just returned from Charleston, SC yesterday to watch the Kings of Leon. i saw them last year in Columbia, SC with Pearl Jam and am a HUGE fan. my dad turned me on to them a couple of years ago. he let me hold 'youth and young manhood' and i still haven't returned it! anyway when i saw them with Pearl Jam, they sounded awesome but they didn't have any energy (no moving around, no improv). I figured they probably didn't wanna go all out at that show because I mean how can u out do Pearl Jam? so i bought tickets for me and my girl figuring that now that they have a hit single and record that they have probably stepped their live game up. i could have chilled at the house and listened to the CD and had the same experience that i did Sunday. sum of the story: great band, mediocre live. i know they r young and u can't really rock out to a lot of their songs but i mean move around or something...shit.

 

btw if u haven't picked up 'only by the night', its one of the best albums of 2008 if not the best!
