    Coffee!!!

https://www.lavazza.co.uk/en/roast-and-ground-coffee/qualita-rossa I'm using this one for years. Used to work with old Italian Chef Franko and got a gift from him. Small stove top coffee maker which he apparently used for decades all over the world when he was travelling as a young chef. That's my most favourite coffee maker ever as it has huge sentimental value to me as well. But had to go for different machine as I'm having electric stove atm and with electricity prices it would ruin me financially. For this stove maker I used mix of Lavazza Rossa and Amazon blend (can't remember name). Might sound weird but worked for me. Now I'm having DeLonghi Magnifica S which is bean to cup. Decent machine but starting to search for something more "exciting" probably
  2. Working in a burger place where we do specials every 2 weeks. Last time I made chicken thighs burger and called it "Two chix ... & fennel". Why this name? As it was my special and as I love "stupid" dads jokes and fennel as an aphrodisiac ... use your imagination. Grilled Piri Piri chicken thighs with sour cream fennel slaw, tomato, cos lettuce, chorizo mayo with chicken skin crisp on a side. Piri Piri marinade (enough for 5kg of thighs): chargrill about 30 red chillies or put in the owen on 180 C for about 15 minutes, then chop them and mix together with 1l of oil, 500ml of red wine vinegar, 5 tbsp of garlic powder, 5 tsp of salt flakes (Maldon), 2 tbsp of dried oregano, 3 tbsp of smoked paprika, 1 tbsp of hot paprika, 1 tsp of bird eye chilli flakes, 1 tbsp of sugar and juice from 3 limes. Bring to "boil" and simmer for about 2 minutes. Cool down and blend. Taste and add more chillies if needed. Keep small pot of marinade on a side for glazing thighs at the end of cooking. Fennel slaw (about 12 portions): slice 1 savoy cabbage, thinly slice 2 fennels (cut off core), 1 red onion, mix together with 300ml of sour cream, juice of 1 lime and 2 tsp of Dijon mustard, season with salt and touch of pepper to taste. Chorizo mayo: finely dice 300g of chorizo, put in a pan with touch of oil and gently fry until bits are crispy. Cool down (use hand blender if bits are still too big, you still want bits but like 2mm max) and then mix with 1kg of mayo (including oil from fried chorizo). Crispy chicken skin - cut into pieces similar size of sliced cheese, place on tray with greaseproof paper in few layers and dry it above grill same way as crispy bacon (at work) or just in the oven if you're cooking it at home. Keep on side and finish to order in a fryer (not necessary), season with Maldon salt. Check chicken thighs for bones, flatten or butterfly if too thick and marinade in Piri Piri. Cook on grill, about 200g per portion (2 large or 3 smaller pieces) until 75 C reached. Btw. that marinade is just basic. You always taste after prepping and adjust chilli if not hot enough for you or fresh lime or lemon juice if not "zingy" or fresh enough or salt or ....
  3. Cast iron or carbon steel pans. The are heavy which is great for frying as they don't drop temperature while frying steak for example. You just need to "season" them (super easy) before using to create non stick layer on a top. Then it's super easy to use it, keep it non stick and wash, fried eggs without sticking etc. It costs slightly more but they will stay for life (and I mean for life) if you wash them properly (no dishwasher or chemicals). Many people buy teflon just cos of non-stick and price. Not knowing about "seasoning" or if they heard it it might sound to them as something difficult to do.
  4. Baguette cos it's similar to pizza (bread) dough. Btw. don't get me wrong, I love pineapple, just on it's own. Funny fact - I think it was somewhere in Africa (probably not just there) they apparently use pineapple when cooking beef stews as it contains some enzyme which helps to break meat so it cooks much faster then classical stews, almost "a la minute". (you can try to put small slice of fresh pineapple under your top lip, it gets pretty nasty soon )
  5. If you'll imagine for example baguette instead of pizza base .... would you eat baguette with piece of pineapple? (UK - don't come to me with baguette with ham, pineapple and cheese please) .... Or Pineapple with touch of tomato sauce? Or pineapple with cheese? Some things work together, some just don't.

    Airsoft

Just a beginners stuff, M4. Site at Skipwith close to York. Might go for different goggles + face cover as from distance it looks like this one are not closed on side. Also snipers love to aim right to your face and boooooy, it hurts Great outdoor fun, relax, new faces, old faces, stories, chats. Also as a first timer I was surprised by amount of girls playing airsoft.
  8. Looks like finally I managed. Went for clone cos I really don't want to do clean install. Few reasons for this. After about 3 days of searching, trying, google etc. it looks like finally it works. Had an issue with bad sector on source disk so used Macrium Reflect as there is an option for cloning with bad sectors. Then I couldn't figure out how to boot. Changing BIOS settings etc. boot from recovery disk and others. Then I found this solution https://www.tenforums.com/backup-restore/162595-cloned-ssd-wont-boot.html and that "topgundcp" solution sorted everything out (only had to use diskpart I think for that drive letter change.). So maybe it will save to somebody few days or hours at least. edit: booting time went from 2 mins to 40 secs.
  9. Ok, thanks all. I'm not gamer, just not my kind of thing I guess so I'll pass on that graphic cards I tried to avoid that clean install for simple reason. "lack of time" + my system of storing files etc. Just not using File Explorer (Total Commander all the time) so I have files saved in like million of dirs everywhere around. All that searching for one thousand of my backup dirs for this and that. That's the reason why I was thinking about cloning. So I might use clean install and then slowly get all files from old disk. Also when using CrystalDiskInfo it shows "uncorrectable sector count" + "current pending sector count" so next reason why "I should" move a bit fast without waiting for more funds for new PC as once available I would spend it on my "perfume fetish" 😕 Just a last question, for me as a "normal" user (not transferring TBs of data etc), is there any huge difference between those "PCI" slot SSD and those which I mount as an internal HDD (box thingy) or is it just used slot which I'm going to see?
  10. Hi guys. I'm thinking about upgrading my old PC Acer Aspire TC-710, I3-6100, 4GB, 1T HDD (2 partitions so 2x aprox 500GB), Win 10 Home (OEM). I would prefer upgrade rather than new PC. PC is quite laggy and slow starting (2 mins) etc. Just for typical home use (not a gamer) + Firestick TV. As a first step I'm thinking about SSD 500GB (so I can stay in about £50 budget for now). Later on maybe i5 processor, RAM + bit of a graphic upgrade maybe later. Not a fan of clean Win install as I'm having nightmares from previous backups of all of my bit messy dirs etc. So if I'll get SSD (thinking about this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Samsung-870-EVO-2-5-500GB-SATA-III-Solid-State-Drive/114638917234?epid=16044063074&hash=item1ab1030e72%3Ag%3AgcsAAOSw76JgBvUN&LH_BIN=1 ) - is it going to clone whole disk including Win as it is, so next time I turn PC on it will boot directly from SSD or do you think there might be an issue cos of OEM version of Win? I should be able to use Win10 Pro key from previous laptop in worst scenario which I guess I will have to use anyway if I'll go for new processor, RAM etc. anyway. Ta
  11. I can't see it in BIOS or Disk Management at all. It acts like HDD plugged only to power. I found PCB on amazon and it looks exact the same (even numbers on board), the only reason I didn't get it yet is price (about £40). So if I understand firms which are offering HDD data recovery are working just with SW (you need to be able to see HDD at least in BIOS for example), they don't change PCB? So I guess my best option is to change PCB and then try that eBay guy to unbrick disk?
  12. It doesn't look like OEM. Original Win label is for Vista. It looks like guy updated to Win10 as there is hand written sticker with reg key for Win10 Pro.
  13. One more tech question - years back I accidently knocked into running desktop (more floortop) PC and HDD went KO. It is not detected even in BIOS and I tried on other PC, tried it as an external HDD. That's the reason I can't use any software (not as far as I know) because I can't see this drive. When switched on it sounds like perfect working HDD, no clicking sounds etc. The only reason why I still didn't bin it was like 10 years of photos and pictures which I never (obviously) backed up. Google said there are firms offering HDD recovery but many times I found reviews saying that guys were charged hundreds even when they couldn't recover any data so I think it's bit risky. Mentally I am almost ready for option that I lost all that photos. Almost. Recently I found this on eBay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293949129017 (that's my HDD type). But as my account was previously banned on eBay I can't contact this guy. Also find on Amazon somebody is selling board from this HDD. Do you think it could work or should I keep searching for hdd recovery firms? When asked in FB groups if anybody has experience with hdd recovery firms I started getting answers like "my mate can build PC so he can fix it" or try this and that SW and it will deffo fix it for you etc. Pretty pointless advices. Any HDD God or Guru over here maybe? Btw it wasn't strong knock so I don't think it was strong enough to physically damage contact on board. One of those when you sit and your feet forgets there is PC when stretching.
  14. Hi guys, just a quick question. Some time ago I bought one of those mini laptops and it was with Win 10 Pro installed (originally it was on Vista i think so pretty old machine). With this it was incredibly slow. Later on hdd went "kaput" KO. I changed HDD and installed Zorin Linux and it goes pretty ok (not expecting any miracle as it is old and not powerful machine). But I am wondering if I'll be able to use reg key for that Win10 which was on old HDD for new different PC? Is there way how to "unregister" Windows without having them installed on original HDD and then use it on new PC?
