  1. On every occasion I have played this map it has been voted down because it truly is a FIAB map for the axis team (see pics). There are other maps for large team play that have a greater possibility of either side reaching or defending the objectives (Transmitter for example). Maps with bottle necks don't work on a large team scale (12+ players per side). Spawn time has some influence on this but let's not debate that variable. This is just a vote of no confidence on this map being a positive contribution to the Fearless Assassins Recruiting map selection (move it to XP Save Forever). It should be as fun defending as running offense. Thank goodness for Fuel Depot where you can expect either side to hold out. Posting this at Christmas, how about pulling Overlord for a Christmas themed map? Merry Christmas everybody! CLAYMORE (FIAB - fish in a barrel)

  3. I've decided it's time for me to leave since I refuse to spend money on chams. It's more and more a suicide run every time you respawn with greater numbers of players utilizing game additions. Once the door is opened it becomes necessary for everybody to either download or leave. With PB now basically impotent, there is nothing to stop the cham wars erupting. Thus, a multi-player game is only good to play until someone downloads and runs the first cham for it. Later FA. CTRL ALT DELETE
  4. There's some confusion here, partially my own. First, I didn't know it was McCloud who moved me to spec (yes it was a move to spec and not a kick so my bad for calling it a kick) and I thought I read in command lines the name of another Admin (i'll leave his name out) as the Admin who moved me (had never seen him on Jay2 before and haven't played with him). I've greater respect for McCloud's judgement in this regard as I've played in his company before. However, the map was SpecialDelivery with 2 objectives to deliver to trucks. I had objective #1 and delivery did not finish the map. BUT, was moved me to spec as if to say there is a set amout of time that was to pass before Objective #1 was to be delivered to the truck. I've NEVER seen this established or practiced and am just asking for fair play and consistancy in Admin practice so none of us feel singled out for an arbitrary reason. I don't see anybody being moved to spec on Warbell (the most rushed map on FA) and if i did I'd follow Admin guidelines for fairplay. Let's not have double-standards on this server where people justify rules on one hand then say it's just a game on the other to qualify a disregard in the Admin Guidelines when they so choose. Just afford me (a so-so player at best) the same fair play that I see others granted. I would have responded to a PM. What's wrong with a PM if you're in the mood to drop the hammer? Love PM's. Send me a PM sometime. But know this, I'm not one to try and finish maps early but I will help advance a map as much as I believe guidelines allow. Don't think any of us can assume to know how fast or slow admins want a map to progress. I hope this is promoting fairplay and the proper use of conduct in gameplay and in warning flags.
  5. I reveiewed the Admin wiki for player conduct and found no rules/guidlines for what an Admin is to do regarding what is considered rushing. I play alot and have sent in money to this gaming service. I see the standard of play on a daily basis. I don't appreciate an Admin showing up with a fraction of the play time of my own and immediately exercising his admin status without any PM or other shoutcaster warning. This may be because he has no guidlines as to what constitutes rushing a map and is simply using his own subjective judgement as to what constitutes a map rush. A recent kick has prompted me to cook this post. Thank you for any update provided to Admin Guidlines regarding rushing you may provide.
  6. On goldrush, the best place that has always worked best for me at Tank Barrier #2 is the left side of the tank about mid-trak where the wall ends. Still close enough to blow the barrier and FAR easier to defend as you can stand out of shooting range and still keep an protect the dyno from eager axis engineers. This is, of coarse, waiting until the tank has stopped at the barrier before planting the dyno. Don't waste your time planting dyno at barrier #2 before tank gets to it.

  9. I just left the RECRUITING server. As usual, there were over 40 people playing, and Gold Rush ended as it always does, with the tank never making it to Barrier #2. The Axis spawn is too close to objectives and there's consistantly too many on the server to ever have any variation in outcome. GermanKiller agreed that nothing has ever been done to eliminate these tiny 16 player maps with something similar to UJE or Temple which can accomodate the 40 player averages in prime-time gameplay. Both Gold Rush and Oasis (which is as strategic as all guns pointed at two holes) are 16 player maps in serious need of replacement. "Recruiting" is popular not because of the current map cycle, which is being tolorated more than enjoyed, but because of the Jaymod configuration of the server. I don't go to "Beginners" because of all the CONSTANT VC chatting and noise. I don't go to "Hardcore" because of the server configuration. So DON'T try to simply blow off this thread by saying "go to another server". RECRUITING needs a serious facelift and others have voiced similar opinion. Just replacing Gold Rush with Super Gold Rush would be a GREAT start if dead-set on keeping a gold rush layout.
