  1. M-Mines are the standard mines, low kill power compared to the S-Mines or "Bouncing Betties", which bounce up into the air while detonating. Much better kill ratio than M-mines. You get to these in Jaymod thru weaponbank 7. Each time you press 7, a different weapon is delivered to be used. 3 mine styles, and if you have high enough skill level, the self-adrenaline needle (needle facing inward), and with a right click of the mouse, Self-Adrenaline becomes Adrenaline-Share, ( needle facing outward,), then with next press of 7, rotatation starts over, with first mine, (poison gas). 1.) First mine in weaponbank 7 is Poison gas. It is hard to identify, but there are 3 circles in faded white on side of green mine canister. No instant kill, but useful to warn you when enemy is aproaching. 2.) Next mine is M-Mine. These are not that powerful, and a player can spot them at the last second while sprinting, and jump over them, without explodsion, or with minimal damage. That's why it's best to plant 2, one to make enemy jump over, and next strategically placed for his landing, and Boom! 3.) Third mine to come up, is the best, the S-Mine, or "Bouncing Betties: which bounce up into the air while detonating. Much better kill ratio than M-mines. 4.) Self-adrenaline, (needle facing inwards) follows the 3 mine styles. 5.) [Right Click] while self-adrenaline is out, and the needle changes to point outward. Now you can inject a member of your team, and he can inject himself, (as well as others can inject him) and the effects of the adrenaline shots combined, multiply proportionally. Good for a dash into heavy enemy fire, to run out with objective, etc. (like Bank on GoldRush) 6.) Then next press of key 7 = entire rotation sequence starts over, with 1st of 3 mines again - Poison-Gas. Whew! Kinda wordy, huh? lol Hope that helps answer your question. Billdoe

  3. Wow, thanks for this post ... it explains a lot ... I was beginning to think it was me, because none of my friends will go drinking with me anymore ... They say I dress funny, and scare off all their options. LOL So, what is the new server IP address, so I may create a shortcut to it, please? And if my friends were smart, they should still go out with me, but stay on the other side of the bar ... and I'll scare 'em all, their way! LMAO Thanks Again. Billdoe
  4. Hello Vanaraud, thanks for the quick reply. I haven't contacted them, but I believe you would be correct, as to a pinging filter, because no matter which server (google.com, FA #2, etc.) 2 of the server/router hops would have about the same amount of packet loss, (as much as 75%), and they were always the same servers. 35 44 29 0 14 30 16 216-229-95-189-empty.fidnet.com 24 55 42 9 16 64 12 216-229-80-186-empty.fidnet.com Yes, I still get the red spikes, even after Cvar_restart, so I think it's a network setting at my client. I did do a little more research into the MTU posted my Medic, and I did find out that most Net Diagnostic/Optimizing programs, are TCP oriented, (ET is UDP) and they won't show much improvment with ET. Is this is also true of the QoS Packet Scheduler, and does ET even need the QoS to function properly. I haven't tried resetting the windows firewall, but I will as soon as I log off, thanks for that tip, also thanks again for your input.
  5. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. You Said: Either because of server to client or client issue. Check your router settings. I have checked my ET settings, but don’t see anything to cause a server or client issue. I have a Motorola SB5101 Surfboard broad band modem, which was provided by My Cable TV Company. It is hard wired to my computer, - No wireless, NO WIFI, and NO router. You Said: Sometimes because of packet fragmentation it also causes red spikes. When you say "packet fragmentation" are you referring to a packet that was split or fragmented by Windows, or to MTU such as Medic discussed in this tutorial? http://fearless-assa...on-mtu-setting/ You Said: It also happens if you are using wifi or wifi interference or QoS on router side. I don’t use wifi, wifi interface, but I do use Qos Packet Scheduler service, although I don’t think I have a router. So I’m at a loss, and I don’t know what to do. Any input is appreciated. Thanks again.
  6. Edit by Billdoe to Help with my Lag: Daredevil said: I also don't see any lag in your lagometer screenshot. 76 FPS stable. The other one has higher green bar = ping most of the time. May be you where downloading something at that time? You are correct on all observations; I don’t have any abnormal lag that I can ascertain. I can actually hold 125 FPS very consistently. Also correct, the bottom green bar height is directly proportional to ping time and the differences in my snapshots are because I was spectating other players in each instance. (Green bar height increases if their ping is greater than mine, I presume) Edit: The last screenshot is of my lagometer while playing ingame, instead of through spectating. Notice the height of the green bar is extreemly short, reflecting my low ping, and also no red bars (packet loss). So I was wondering: Would packet loss (red bars) show up in my lagometer, because the actual lost packet was from the player I was spectating? Thanks again, Billdoe
  7. Wow, thanks a lot, to all of you who took the time to respond, let alone so quickly. It is not only greatly appreciated, but also refreshing, to see, in today’s society. Also I would like to say, many thanks to F|A, and their staff, who provide so much to the ET community. Thanks again. Daredevil said: Can you re run WinMTR against the server IP which you lag on? You run WinMTR on google.com which is of no use. I thought about using the F|A sever for the WinMTR report, but I did not want any other players to lag, if I was causing it. Daredevil said: I also don't see any lag in your lagometer screenshot. 76 FPS stable. The other one has higher green bar = ping most of the time. May be you where downloading something at that time? (Green bar height increases if their ping is greater than mine, I presume) Daredevil said: There are a couple of red spikes but they are ok. It happens sometimes. Post the WinMTR report and I can help more on network side. I apologize; I may have mislabeled my problem, which is packet loss, (red bars in the green graph). It does happen sometimes, but recently I have noticed an increase in the quantity of the red lines (Dropped Packets). It seems that before a single thin red line can travel across the lagometer and disappear, two to three more appear. I have noticed that in all of the WinMTR results, no matter whether google.com or other servers, the most packet loss (usually up to 50%), is from the same server/router jump addresses, namely: 216-229-95-189-empty.fidnet.com - 35 to 57 % loss 216-229-80-186-empty.fidnet.com - 24 to 25 % loss Here is the attached a WinMTR data from the F|A #2 XPSAVE FOREVER using this server address 74.63.64.44 minus the port: 27960 (WinMTR could not resolve the Address with the port included) WinMTR statistics % Sent Recv Best Avrg Worst Last Host 0 105 105 5 15 57 17 10.101.0.1 1 101 100 5 14 42 9 172.16.0.1 1 101 100 6 12 57 9 216-229-80-177-empty.fidnet.com 35 44 29 0 14 30 16 216-229-95-189-empty.fidnet.com 24 55 42 9 16 64 12 216-229-80-186-empty.fidnet.com 0 105 105 18 26 96 35 host-69-27-196-41.stjoseph.mo.npgco.com 0 105 105 18 29 212 20 65.255.143.66 1 101 100 19 28 57 21 65.255.143.110 1 101 100 19 26 81 31 65.255.143.209 0 105 105 18 28 92 33 te3-5.ccr01.stl03.atlas.cogentco.com 1 101 100 24 35 92 46 te0-2-0-5.ccr22.ord01.atlas.cogentco.com 1 101 100 26 33 55 29 te0-0-0-7.ccr22.ord03.atlas.cogentco.com 0 105 105 26 33 97 50 comcast.ord03.atlas.cogentco.com 1 100 99 25 53 222 31 comcast02.chi.fdcservers.net 0 105 105 26 34 99 32 . On a side note: the above data was taken after I stumbled upon a fix, (maybe a fix), as follows: I was looking at windows connection/firewall settings, and started removing protocols/services, one at a time, until I found the best combination, namely just these four: • Client for Microsoft Networks • Qos Packet scheduler • Link-Layer topology Discovery Mapper I/O Driver • Internet protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) I disabled • File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks • Internet protocol Version 6 (TCP/Ipv6) • Link-Layer topology Discovery Responder I also set both IP address, and DNS server address to “Obtain automatically”, even though the DNS and default gateway never change. I found that my packet loss has decreased immensely in ET, but not so much with WinMTR (probably because of the 2 above named routers). Also my ping is down to 37, after minimalizing, but I still have some packet loss. If you would like more info I could post a short console log with the command "Showdrop" enabled. just let me know if you need anymore info. ========================================================================================= Sorry for the lengthy post, hopefully it will help others as well as myself. Thank again for everyone’s input, and to F|A for the huge service they provide to the ET community. Sincerely: Billdoe

  9. Thanks man, you're correct, as usual. I made a bind to toggle auto-rate on or off. (Using some of your script in my autoexec config as a guide). Thanks again.
  10. Thanks Medic, that was fast. I do have one question. The rate in my config is 32000, but servers limit rate to 25000. Maybe you mis-understood my net hardware download speed: Internet Connection: Cable @ 1150 kilobits average download @ Speedtest.net 1150 is in kilobits or = 1.15 Megabits. Thanks again, bro.
