at the time i had an x800 and 1 gig. you just need a low spec cfg and drop the res as low as is tollerable. you should be able to easily eek out 50-76

back in the day there were magic numbers that did help with movement. 43, 76, 125 and 333. this was all fixed years ago, so now its about matching monitor hz, fps and maxpackets

no offense, but it is easy. ive ran a ton of servers in my day from q3a, rtcw, to et. you call the server host and complain. if it isnt in their power to fix, than you find a new server host or write a complain to level 3 everyday (thats probably the issue but who knows. i havent ran a tracert when it happens yet)

its the server, not me. almost everyones ping in the server doubles. not sure why the admins wouldnt want to fix a pretty large problem like that

seriously, if you have fps issues in et, there's a bigger problem. i had 76-125 fps on a p4 years ago that being said, ill give this a look tomorrow. kinda curious about it

when ET comp died quite a few years ago, most of us moved on to other games, but nothing really compares to ET still to this day. a group of us decided to reinstall and have some fun fragging. we all kind of found the hardcore server (since etpro is dead, silent mod is as close as it comes these days) and we've basically had a decent time there. There are some issues though that i feel like can be easy changed/fixed/values played with. things that i see people complaining about, and what affects our enjoyment on a regular enough basis to warrent conversation. the teamdamage is insane. i regularly recieve 500+ points of td a round. i would personally put a limit on it and force people either spec or kick them when they're over a certain number. 1 panzer and 6 rnades? its always an absolutely terrible player that has panzer and the amount of tks that happen is pretty crazy. i feel like 2 panzers and 2-3 rnades is fair. you do a great job limiting fops spam already but engies have 6-8 nades + rnades. it gets insane 12v12 on smaller maps. map selection is ok, but maps like italy just dont work with 30 min time limits. people that are regulars actively avoid voting for it, but all it takes is 4 people to vote it with 3 points apiece ive been trying to figure out why the server poops on itself. it must have something to do with peak times, but i go from 20 ping all the way up to 200 ping and the entire servers pings double. i would talk to your server provider. it might have something to do with whatever else is running on the server box too, but its pretty extreme when it happens. i get massive red lines in my lagometer and occasional yellow sharks. there's something wrong when you spec teammates when you die. im always forced to spec a particular player, it doesnt remember my previous choice for some reason.
