Odd number of players? Who get the extra guy?

So i thought it was common knowledge that if there were an uneven number of players, the defending team gets the extra guy. Its been that way for the 12 years i've been playing this game! I tried pointing this out to an admin on Silent 1 a few minutes ago. It seems, with how he acted, he believes axis always gets the extra guy no matter whos defending. After a "!howfair" it clearly showed axis, who were attacking, had a more than a unfair advantage and the extra player. I pointed this out to said admin and was subsequently warned! stating "respect the admins". I didnt  know that disagreeing with an admin was warn able. I continued to disagree and was muted, stating again "respect the admins". After being muted a teammate stood up for me, pretty much telling the admin he was in the wrong. My teammate was then warned for "disrespect"

I find it concerning that this admin does not know the difference between disagreeing and disrespect.

I have nothing but respect for good F|A admins! I have taken problems to other F|A Admins on occasion. Always being respectful!  They have always been more than helpful.

So, do you agree? Does the defending team get the extra player if there are an odd number of players????

It always depends upon the scores which can be checked by /scores, which is a much better choice than !howfair...

It doesn't matter whether it's the attacking team or the defending team gets the player... It matters whether the stronger or weaker team... an attacking team maybe weaker as well... And we don't want then people to stack upon the stronger team... So it's better to check the /scores than using !howfair or pressing tab...

Now since it was odd no. Of players.... The regulars cannot choose the team he has to join the team with 1 slot free.... So if there is no admin ATM nothing can be done.... But if an admin is present he will even up or put the players to even up the teams :)

Sometimes, in all games/clans/servers, some admins think "respect the admins" means "be obedient to the admins"....

Disagree. A few maps on ET (for example Capuzzo, School, Ruins, Oil Kombinat) are easy defendable. Even if the attacking side has more players they will still lose and thats all because the maps are in favour of the defending side.

Example 2; The day before yesterday i played Teuthonia. The Allies had more players and more kills but couldn't get through because the second stage is really hard to break down.

Example 3; Fueldump's first stage is really hard to break down aswell, mostly it happens after 10 min of playing. The Axis will always have more kills but that doenst mean they are the stronger team. After that the tables will turn and the allies are almost always able to reach obj, plant it and win the map.

And yes, sometimes it's clearly unfair when checking the scores. My opinion is to think twice as an admin, check the map, check the players and than check the scores.

Yea I know, I said that in general... For some maps we can't do anything.... It supports the defending side so much... Even we can't help it.... But admins try to keep things fair as much as possible.... But everything can't be perfect :P

No, whoever needs the player gets the player.

If teams are perfect (rare) then it doesn't matter who has an extra player. They're even.

If anything, I would say usually the attacking team needs more help on most maps.

It's nice to have guides like the !howfair and /scores or the KD/R but sometimes it depends on the map and the gameplay of the team. Just a quick look at the match as a spec before joining can help you decide too which team need the extra player. For what I saw so far on the server it's never uneven for a long period of time, it's normal that sometimes one team is getting rolled, but after few games there's a shuffle, someone goes spec/quit etc. I personally don't like to see one team really struggle so when I can I try to switch to the one that needs my revives the most ;-)
