#1, maybe the horse "threw a shoe", which is kind of like getting a flat tire.  Thought 2:  maybe that wagon and that truck are his only two vehicles, so he needs to haul the horse and wagon to his job-site to get the work done.

 

#2, That must have been a Helluva Halloween party that she went to the night before.  At least she found her way home okay. :D
