You need to use an editor with elevated (admin) privileges.

 

Use notepad++ or similar, and set notepad++ to always run as admin

 

OR you can copy your cfg somewhere else (desktop or my documents etc), edit it, save it, then copy back and overwrite the old one.

right click on your et folder and click on properties, then security, then change permissions to allow all

I have found this can cause big problems with certain ET mods bizarrely

How odd!

 

I avoided the whole issue four years ago when I built this computer by copying the whole ET-installation from the old computer to a separate (not C:) HD = no problems.  

 

I had to imitate the /program files/ wolf... directory structure so that Pinoy's program would work more conveniently.  :)
