There's nothing to be ashamed about in getting your mental health sorted out and back on track. How ever long that may take you. Whatever medications or therapy you need. That's why we have doctors-no matter how terrifying they may be to meet with lol. Everyone is going through something. Everyone reacts differently to what happens in life. Yes, there is this hovering cloud of stigma around mental health. So the more we talk about it the better. The more we know about our bodies the more emotionally, mentally and physically healthier we can be. AKA the longer we can play ET.

 

Food for thought: "Depression is the most common type of mental illness, affecting more than 26% of the U.S. adult population. It has been estimated that by the year 2020, depression will be the second leading cause of disability throughout the world, trailing only ischemic heart disease".

Many of us have experienced depression in various degrees of severity but one things for sure it's not weakness or anything to be ashamed of no matter what. It's one of the hardest and most frustrating and self-fueling issues to deal with and like you, I have definitely found good friendship and support here in this wonderful community!

Luckily most young health care professionals (at least, where I studied) are growing increasingly aware of the shortcomings of old practicioners, id est (among other things) missing the impact or the knowledge to properly refer someone to the right station within health care when it comes to psychological or psychiatric conditions.
