An Alternative Look of How Modern Society Works

Entanglement

Recommended Posts

An alternative look of how i see modern society, i know that is is extreme and should not be generalized but it does exist on a larger scale that we think it does, let me know whether you agree with this to some extent or not completely.

BANKER:

Someone who steals people's money in a 'legal' way. (don't know what legal even means at this point).

CEO:

Someone who enslave his employees to please the shareholders (usually Bankers as well).

CELEBRITY:

Someone who treat her/his self as an object and sells her/her body to corporations as an argument to convince the sheep i mean the people to buy a certain product.

POLITICIAN:

A well practiced liar who's job is to convince the people that Banks and corporations are working in their favor.

JOURNALIST :

Someone who's job is to repeat what the politician says (it's called public relations).

FILM MAKER/DIRECTOR:

Someone who's job is to distract and prevent the people from knowing they are being screwed.

TEACHER:

A person who's job is to shut down children's critical thinking and curiosity and psychologically prepare them to be the next slaves i mean employees.

POLICE:

A person or an institution that protect all of the above when the circus tent comes down.

Wellllll, many journalists have the intent of calling out authority figures and finding the truth.

Many film makers are just artists with ideas.

Many teachers want children's thoughts to flourish, though I agree that the public education system is essentially made to bottleneck children through the process like a machine.

And a lot of police have benevolent intent, though many just want the power.

This post seems kinda overly edgy like you just finished watching Fight Club lol. I DO agree that the machine is kinda made in a way to oppress, distract, etc. but I think you're discounting the fact that a lot of people within the machine are doing their best and do have positive intent. Where would you fit yourself into this?

If this is how you see modern society I'll express worries as to your psychological wellbeing. This is an extremely distorted world view held by quite many an extremist and drugaddict, and it usually ends up with death.

How do you cope with being so extremely negative about everything?

That's a little harsh. I think that there's a healthy level of cynicism and skepticism to be had about our current state of affairs. And this is pretty demonizing to drug addicts tbh.

I definitely think OP is accurate to an extent, but he's being pretty extreme about some things and is attributing a lot of malevolence and conspiracy to things that could boil down to ignorance and selfishness.

I suspect that we each create our own Devils in our minds to have some people to safely Hate.  It is oddly comforting.

I have felt that a couple of times at one place in a certain situation, so I do know the emotion.  I had no reason to hold onto that attitude and have not felt it in decades.

Hate is a corrosive emotion.

I pity those who hold are held in its thrall.

I'm sorry, all I can read in the OP is "everything in the world sucks and everybody is trying to manipulate little old me". Victimizing oneself with the help of a distorted world view sounds like a track to darker tendencies to me. The drug addict part is because I know people who died (through their own means) due to exactly this kind of thinking shown in the OP, and their view was equally distorted because they were high 16 hours a day. Could be demonizing to you, could be a vivid memory to somebody else.

I'm reading a distrust of authority and media, which I don't think its too far off. Some would have us think that our role as humans is just to be consumers.

Hurrah for diversity of opinions!   :D

I am still reading a book on Thinking, where the author mentions what he calls the "Intelligence Trap".  That is when intelligent people use their capable minds to only think of reasons to support their previously-held opinions on a subject.  They might not try to analyze the issue to think of positive, negative or interesting (neutral) elements of the topic, but only search for positive ones that reenforce their current opinion.

An 'interesting' thought about the author's idea is that perhaps some people who define themselves as 'intelligent' are doing so for emotional reasons and have no other valid reason for that belief.   :)

Actually in theese says that's excactly our role, consume everything till death from media to school they all share the same goal to make humans the perfect consumption machine (i'd like to express my opinions but we must never get political on a gaming forum :P )

AKA 'echo chambers'. It can happen with unintelligent people too.

My psychological well-being is good, I am a critical thinker, a truth seeker. I understand from your statement you don't really understand this world yet, you'll do later ...

I know what you meant, you're pretty much saying what Flible has said, it's a normal reaction from someone who is not ready to hear that kind of truth.

Mate, I find this post quite offensive and just as disturbing as your previous ones in this thread. You call yourself a critical thinker and a truth seeker only followed by judging one's capacity to perceive the world by their disagreement with your own point of view. But, if we're going to measure each other's dicks with respect to how well we understand this world, then I sure as hell hope that you at least acknowledge the fact that you and I both know absolutely jack about the world. It's a vast world mate, and there's a professional in just about every subject you can think of. Recognizing the fact that you do not stand as equal to each and every professional out there is the start of having an open mind. Although I stand by my point of view that your first post but illustrates just how 'open' your mind is.

I have a very sour aftertaste after writing that because I don't like pointing towards other people, but I honestly feel that your original post is a danger to people susceptible to such content.
