NQ1 XP Delete

Hi guys im a old et nq player, i have played nq1 and others nq's for long time, actually fa nq1 is ranked like #2 #3 most populated nq servers. I think you have less players than you would llooking how ranked are the fa servers in others mods, some servers are dyng and fa nq1 is no getting the relevance it would have. So my question is. Whats the point of deleting players XP?

My opinion is that deleting xp doesnt make people more stable when you punish people for a temporal absent they can try the other server where they have levels xp and history. Specialy for new players can come from the die of Dark Alchemy, Kernwaffe, and more to come.

So please give your opinion, and have a thought. Thanks

I think that the rule on all FA ET severs is that xp gets deleted after 30 days of absence by the player.  Just joining the server for a few minutes every 29 days would preserve it, I believe.

I can think of several reasons why this is so, some having to do with storage costs and response times, and some having to do with fraud.

I have lost XP that way, too.   :(  We just have to start over.   :D

As for your application, you can discuss the 40k XP problem with your 'referrers' and see if they can be of help.

For the record, the reason why XP gets erased after 30 days is to keep the shrubbot file (what stores levels, xp, etc) in check... if it gets too bloated, this can lag the server or cause some rather nasty problems down the line.

Vacations season has already started and at this time there are always less players but on weekends (at night) server is pretty crowded.

As you said earlier, server gets high on ranks and thx to that I see a lot of new nicks every day and most of them gain like 1k xp and they are gone.
Probably they were looking for server to play just for that time when their regular server went offline/was empty or just didn't like it etc
And all that data about this "one day players" would be storage for no reason.-

IMO it's good how it is now.

Maybe good solution would be deleting all XP below some ammount, for example 40k - in that way one-day players won't make server laggy, as their info will be deleted and regulars who proved that they play for some time will have their XP saved in case of long absence.

Interesting.  You are suggesting that the more XP that a player has, the longer the records should be kept?

Something like that - more xp means player spent more time on this server means greater chances that he'll be back at this server. 40k xp is, i think, optimal ammount as it's neccessary for applicants to have at least 40k, so once it achieved they would have their proof.
