Doesn't support MoCA might be because it's dsl not sure.

Does the laptop wireless driver support 802.11 g/b/n ( do note the n is the range of IEEE ) if it doesn't your stuck on 2.4ghz at what ever max speed it provides for 802.11b/g on a dsl modem

To help you understand 802.11 differences scroll down to the tables where it displays the load output

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IEEE_802.11

It's really hard to say with DSL what the max you will get out of that modem on a phone line.

But after reviewing the device you have your 5ghz channel is only supported at 5 GHz over 802.11ac so you may not be able to connect to the channel if the device your using doesn't have 802.11ac compatibility. It may support b/g/n but it says it runs only 5ghz on ac.

Do you have a cell phone to check bluetooth connection to wpa for 5ghz

also changing the access connection type in the router it self may up the anny by changing the security settings to a more open connection type like from WEP WPA or WPA2 sometimes not all the time

Not a whole lot of intel on the modem it self sorry can only offer out of the box suggestions.
