et server suggestion Beginners 2: Spawn time on some maps

Hi, one of the Beginners 2 representetives here.

 

One of the things that people complain about from time to time is the commitment for the objective. Observations and polling tell that the problem is not necessarily that nobody goes for the objective, but the fact that some maps, for example gold rush and oasis, are near impossible to do, due to the spawn time being short (8 secs, 6 with CP). In general, maps with spawns close to objective (where the attacking team spawns far away), are close to impossible, unless the teams are stacked.

 

The suggestion is to increase the spawn time by a bit, which will make attacking easier, and keep people happier. Preferably this should only be changed for certain maps because the short spawn time does have it's positives (dynamic gameplay).

Yup, much needed change as some maps are basically impossible with current spawn times. Should also see about banning flamers

Imo 10 sec on all maps would be cool. Tho El has a point: it is impossible to reach the objective, because of so many flamers and mg's on same team. For god sake limit those to 2 max/team and there will be proper maps played. Now ppl just like to stack as defenders and camp near objectives and spam with flame/mg. I mean really some sit there the 20-30 min without any value to their team for the rest of the map and it is stupid.

I agree, 10 sec. would be nice.... TO El: Flamers should be banned :DDD......Now seriously, flames are problem in goldrush, and in a few another maps, mainly with narrow passages ....

The solution to flamers is easy to solve by enabling self damage imo. Yes, spawn times should be reconsidered especially on goldrush.

Good idea, but the hardest part would be to pick up the maps on which spawn times would be extended. Might be alot of admins work behind. But I go for it.

Atleast goldrush, that map is a real pain in the butt! Oasis is pretty impossible too, but not that impossible as Goldrush. If needed I can make a list of maps that needs attention?

Phantom makes a good point about self damage, then flamer would still be playable but would require more skill so you wouldn't burn yourself.

Hmm yes definitely, 6 secs spawntime on oasis for example, it's already hard enough to win with the amount of people, if axis spawn 5x before the timer goes off if you already manage to plant.. well.. I don't think I have to explain more
I think 10sec respawn on the most of the maps is a good plan
